Traits That Billionaires Share

What makes a billionaire? From Forbes, their own self proclaimed “unscientific” study resulted some surprising results. First, the trend seems that billionaires tend to have parents who were great at math (engineers, accountants, and small business owners). Makes sense. Second, the trends show that billionaires tend to be born often during fall more than any other season. Makes no sense. Third, more than 20% of the American self made billionaires have never started or completed college. However, billionaires who derive their fortune from finance makes up a bunch of highly educated groups, comprising of 55% who have graduate degrees. Article: Link

North Korean Rocket Sizzles Into Pacific

I have now come to believe that North Korea does not give a shit about whatever the rest of the world thinks. You tell them not to mess around with those rockets and the next day they launch one. Well U.S. and its various ally’s wants to punish North Korea for launching a rocket that apparently sizzled into the Pacific. Then again one can also argue the fact that other countries are allowed to test and posses intercontinental ballistic missiles. It looks like they are punishing them not for the possession part but for threatening the peace and stability of nations near and far of the pacific. Once again they break the rule of not testing rockets that can be use for long-range missiles. “Obviously today’s action by North Korea constitutes a clear violation,” said Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. “My government has called this a provocative act, and we have been in consultation today with our allies in the region and other partners on the Security Council … to work toward agreement on a strong collective action.”

eBay’s April Fools?

Please, don’t ask me why I’m posting this at 3 am in the morning but…I was studying at 2 am today and I ended up distracting myself and checking my email. eBay sent me the following message: Hi asa-2008, Congratulations! It’s fast, easy, and free. Just sign up, and you’ll be on your way to earning 2% back on all your qualifying eBay purchases.* You’ll rack up eBay Bucks whenever you shop on eBay and pay with PayPal. Every three months, you’ll get a certificate to spend on eBay. See how eBay Bucks works. Take the video tutorial . Hurry, participation is limited, so sign up now. Start earning on April 1. At first I thought it was a legitimate email (It is officially from eBay) So, after a few clicks, I applied for the program. I am not very sure if it is a joke, or a mistake – the 0% ? If it was a joke, it was not very funny, and if it is real then it is just a mistake at the wrong day and time. The email said 2% One thing in question is, it says the beta starts April 1st (..today) and a search on google would indicate that eBay Bucks has existed for quite a while now! What do you think?

Senator Delivers Off-Color Joke

This is a statement you would likely not hear in the Senate. But an exchange between Sens. Charles Grassley and Kent Conrad resulted in a scabrous joke about Conrad’s wife that raised some eyebrows. Watch it and let us hear your reaction.

Did You Know?

Facts that may have never crossed our mind, are often hard to believe. This video was made ~1 year ago – but it is a good reminder on how fast our world moves. It is extremely difficult to tell what the future will provide. What will be the top jobs when us students are done with school? What is the likelihood of our job not existing? What will dominate the market in 10 years? The internet? Something better? Questions that may not be that easy to answer.

Seven Ways to Boost Brainpower: Scientific and Non Scientific Approach

So, recently I’ve been doing well on all my tests. And everyone’s been asking me for what my secret is. Well, I’m no brain scientist, but according to this source , these 7 strategies really help. 1) Lab mouse increased their neurons by exercising. Maybe you should try it too. 2) Stimulants such as caffeine can help you to boost some brain power. 3) Saturated fat is bad for both the brain and the body. But omega-3 fats found in fishes are good. High antioxidants are also good for the brain (they are found in fruits and vegetables). It’s also good to restrict your diet, and to eat less. 4) Believe it or not, video games can help you boost your brain power. If you’ve heard of Brain Age on the Nintendo DS, I would get it. If not, never mind. 5) Unsurprisingly, listening to music can help to boost your brain power. I think classical music is the best for this purpose. 6) Meditating, turning the mind inward and reflecting upon yourself can boost your brain and help you to keep your body healthy. Regular mediators feel more creative, and at ease than non mediators do. 7) And the best way to boost your IQ is to study hard! (This wasn’t mentioned in the article).
